Collegedale, Tenn. – As part of the SR-317 Apison Pike Reconstruction project from SR-321 (Ooltewah-Ringgold Road) to Layton Lane in Hamilton County, TDOT contract crews will close a portion of Tucker Road (from Spalding Drive to 5400 Tucker Road) within the project limits to allow for the completion of construction in areas currently under existing traffic. The closure will enable the contractor to finish this section of work as quickly as possible, including utilities, the tie-in for Tucker Road, grading, and drainage for the proposed SR-317. The closure will remain for approximately ten months until the final alignment of Tucker Road and SR-317 are prepared for traffic.

Beginning between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, 

Motorists traveling to Apison Pike from Tucker Road:

  • Travel North on Tucker Road to Edgmon Road
  • Turn right and travel East on Edgmon Road approximately 0.6 miles to Tallant Road
  • Travel Southbound approximately 1.22 miles until arriving at Apison Pike

Motorists traveling to Tucker Road from Apison Pike:

  • Turn onto Tallant Road
  • Travel North approximately 1.22 miles to Edgmon Road
  • Turn left and travel West on Edgmon Road approximately 0.6 miles
  • Turn left onto Tucker Road

The detour will be facilitated by several road signs, traffic control devices, and temporary message boards in both directions. This work is weather-dependent. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances delay this work, it will be rescheduled to take place as soon as possible.

Wright Brothers Construction Company, Inc. is the contractor for the $93.1 million SR-317 (Apison Pike) construction project realigning and widening approximately 3.4 miles of roadway slated for completion in summer of 2025.
